Youth Choir depart for Finland and Estonia tour

Taplow Youth Choir have set off for their 2024 tour, with performances scheduled in Helsinki, Tartu, and Tallinn.

Taplow Youth Choir members managed an early alarm call, to catch the pre-dawn coach to the airport ahead of their tour of Finland and Estonia.

Over the next week, the choir will enjoy spending time socially together, as well as the opportunity to sing in a range of wonderful venues. Scheduled performances include:

There are places available in Girls’ Choir – Year 5 – Year 9.

There are places available in Youth Choir for sopranos, tenors and basses.

TGC ‘Lift Thine Eyes’ virtual recording

Taplow Girls’ Choir give a ‘virtual choir’ performance of Mendelssohn’s ‘Lift Thine Eyes’, from ‘Elijah’.

Taplow Girls’ Choir members come together in a ‘virtual choir’ recording of ‘Lift Thine Eyes’. 

This piece, from Felix Mendelssohn’s oratorio ‘Elijah’, is traditionally performed by a trio of singers – but here is sung in three-part harmony by members of our Girls’ Choir, with an average age of just 13.

Taplow Choirs alumni: united remotely in lockdown

Taplow Choirs alumni delighted Gillian Dibden with an unexpected gift: a ‘virtual choir’ performance of Charles Villiers Stanford’s ‘Heraclitus’.

In the depths of lockdown, former members of Taplow Youth Choir delighted their erstwhile leader, Gillian Dibden, with an unexpected gift: a ‘virtual choir’ video, with alumni singing Charles Villiers Stanford’s setting of Heraclitus.

The brainchild of Ben de Souza, who sang with the Youth Choir between 2010 and 2015, the project took less than a fortnight to coordinate.
