Elisabeth Cullen
Leader, Taplow Boys’ and Children’s Choirs
Elisabeth Cullen began singing in Taplow Children’s Choir aged seven, and continued to sing with both the Girls’ and Youth Choirs over the following 14 years. Over the years, Elisabeth has taken on various responsibilities within the choirs: she says it has been a “pleasure” to lead and assist with rehearsals, as well as staffing tours, residential weekends, and day trips.
In 2022-23, she helped to conduct and lead the Youth Choir through their Christmas and Spring seasons. More recently, she was invited to conduct the Children’s and Boys’ Choirs in their 2024 Summer Concert performance – a relationship she says she is excited to continue to develop.
She currently holds the Santander Universities UK Award at the Royal Academy of Music where she studies voice with Mary Nelson.
Elisabeth works with the National Youth Choirs and sings professionally in and around London including holding the position of ‘Solo Cantor’ at St Mary’s Catholic Church, Cadogan Street, as well as singing regularly with Chelmsford Cathedral Choir. She is also in demand as a soloist with a range of choirs, and as a recitalist.
Outside of singing Elisabeth plays the violin, viola and percussion. Elisabeth was also a national standard springboard and platform diver including winning three international medals in 2018.
She now coaches a new generation of young divers who are also competing nationally and internationally.
