BY ROAD - FROM THE M4

Leave the M4 at Junction 7 - SLOUGH WEST. At the roundabout on the end of the slip-road take the first exit left onto the A4 towards Maidenhead.

(*) Go straight through at the next crossroads with traffic lights and carry on to the first roundabout which has Sainsbury's supermarket on the corner. Take the last exit onto LENT RISE ROAD heading north towards Burnham but turn left almost immediately, in front of the shop, onto TAPLOW ROAD.

Follow this road under the railway bridgeRoute Pictures (1) past a small industrial site up to the staggered crossroads. Go straight across between the allotments and the playing field, now BOUNDARY ROAD. You should be able to see the church spire in the distance in front of you (3). On past the Taplow "Gate" (4). Enter the 30 m.p.h. speed limit (6) and slow for the dangerous bend (7). The turning into Taplow village is on your left after the bend. This is RECTORY ROAD and will take you up to the Church on your right (8), on the corner of HIGH STREET opposite the village green. Continue on RECTORY ROAD past the Pub (9) and row of cottages (10) for about another 100m where the next turning on the right, towards the school (11), will take you past the school entrance (12) to the fee village car park. Opposite the turn off towards the school is the gate to the Rectory, behind the high brick wall (13) and by the side of the car park is the village hall.

BY ROAD - LOCALLY

From SLOUGH - If you are coming from the SLOUGH direction (heading WEST) then continue on the main A4 until you get to the roundabout at the end of the M4 JUNCTION 7 slip-road. Then follow the instructions from (*) above.

From MAIDENHEAD - head out of Maidenhead on the A4 towards SLOUGH across MAIDENHEAD BRIDGE over the RIVER THAMES and then over the new JUBILEE RIVER BRIDGE. At the next set of traffic lights, with a car dealer on the corner, turn left (north) into BERRY HILL (sign posted to HIGH WYCOMBE). Continue up the hill and into the 30 m.p.h. limit. Slow for the dangerous bend and just on the bend turn right (watch out for traffic coming down the hill)! You are now in RECTORY ROAD which leads down (over the low speed bump) into the centre of the village. Just as you can see the greenRoute Pictures (11) (the church is across the green) there is a turning to your left which heads towards the school (12) and into the free car park. The RECTORY is directly opposite the turning to the school with the iron gates and high brick wall (13).

BY RAIL - TAPLOW STATION

Taplow Station is on the main Western Region line (from PADDINGTON) between SLOUGH and MAIDENHEAD. You will need a slow stopping train - and not all of those stop at TAPLOW. The village is about a mile from the station on a slight incline.

There is a TAXI office in part of the station building by the road if you are unable to walk.

IF YOU ARE ABLE TO WALK - as you leave the station turn EAST (towards LONDON) and STATION GARAGE (S.G.T.) which you will see on the corner. At the staggered crossroads turn left across the road at the end of the pavement (not across to S.G.T.) and head north on STATION ROAD. You will have some trees and fields on the left and the playing field on the right. Usually there will be a row of cars parked along the road. Continue along STATION ROAD until you come to a 'T' junction (2) Route Picturesat an angle with some flats on the left and the corner of the playing field on your right across the road. Turn left here onto BOUNDARY ROAD and you should soon see the church spire in the distance (3). Continue heading towards the church up the hill (5), past the 30 m.p.h. limit sign (6) and along the narrow pavement through the bend beside the old brick wall. Turn left at the junction which is just round the bend, (7) into RECTORY ROAD. The church is on the right after about 100m (8) on the corner of HIGH STREET and opposite the village green. Continue on along RECTORY ROAD past the pub (9) on your left and the green on your right and past a row of cottages (10), up to the road which leads to the school on the right (11). The Rectory is on your left, directly opposite the junction, with the iron gates and high brick wall (13). The red brick Village Hall (or Reading Room) is across the green to the north. At the back of the hall is the car park. You can also get to them both from the High Street via some steps.
